Stuff.

On my mind, lately:

What to eat at Fork on Saturday night.

How (absolutely unsurprisingly) I was dead wrong when I thought I could resist Bravo's new show, Top Chef.

What to do on our superfast trip to the Yakima valley this weekend (lots of wineries and a brewery too!)--specifically where to eat and if we can go to the American Hop Museum.

My incredibly varied assortment of recent DVDs borrowed from the library: Before Sunset, Stop Making Sense, Murder on a Sunday Morning, and Like Water for Chocolate.

How in the world I am going to volunteer at PAWS on Saturday and not come home with a dog.

Monday night's bookclub discussion of Atonement, as well as Never Let Me Go (completed at 5 AM this morning).

What to cook next.

Some of my favorite things! Breweries, Stop Making Sense and a dog. You're going to have a really good weekend.

Yay! Although I am a little afraid of what's going to happen when I see all of the dogs at the shelter. I might go on a wild, puppy-grabbing rampage. And somehow I think the volunteers are supposed to be a bit more professional than that.

What's unprofessionaly about scooping up dogs and giving them homes? Am I missing something?

Well-said....

Did you watch the Puppy Bowl during the Super Bowl halftime nonsense?

NO I DID NOT WATCH THE PUPPY BOWL. I am still really bitter. The people I was with actually wanted to watch the halftime show, or something.

Idiots.

Those of us at Ryan's superbowl party (to which you were invited, Kate, but chose not to attend) thoroughly enjoyed watching the puppy bowl. I think we might have mentioned that to you once or twice. Too bad you chose to ditch us, huh?

:)

Chris--was the Puppy Bowl REALLY terrible, or are you just saying that? Because everything I've heard about it makes it seem like it was the absolute most fantastic thing ever. Puppies! Running around! Water bowl camera!

Colin--Hmph. I didn't CHOOSE to ditch you, I just got the other invitation first. And since I am nothing if not a slave to etiquette, I was obligated to go to the other party. And yes, you have mentioned it once or twice. :)

I'm totally "just saying that." The Puppy Bowl was stupendous, and it sounds sounds like you've already heard about precisely why, which is a relief to me personally, so I do not have to describe the water bowl camera.

OMG the water bowl camera. When I get a puppy I will put a clear glass dish above my face and lie down on the floor just to try to replicate the effect.

The Bowl Cam was great. Holding a glass dish above your face sounds like the only way to repeat it (before the next Supe), with the added bonus of probably getting splashed with water. Please report back to us about that (and I'll do the same, obviously).

And I meant to say that the Puppy Bowl was great even though I watched it with 4 other dogs (and 6 people, but no pix of Hadley, dog #4). and there was plenty of other dog-related foolishness going on. We were *all* entranced by the Bowl Cam.

HARVEY was there? Oh, I love him! The dachshunds are pretty awesome too.

I am jealous!

And I need a dog for the bowl experiment. Sadly, the dog's probbaly not going to happen anytime soon...

Harvey was there, (relatively) placidly tolerating the visit of several dogs smaller than his feet. Memorably, he and Remy got into a tug of war with a stuffed snake....Good times.
