Julie's back.
This is the Julie of the first blog I ever really read, the Julie/Julia Project. Along with her newly-published book, she now has a new blog.
For those of you who haven't read the Julie/Julia Project, Julie (Powell) decided to take on Julia (Child) and her inimitable Mastering the Art of French Cooking: 536 recipes in 365 days. It's awesome: she curses, she makes her husband wash the dishes, she hates (HATES) her day job. But it was all worth it, I guess, because she got a book deal.
She'll be at Third Place Books on Thursday. Even cooler for my Boston friends: she'll be at Chez Henri on October 14 (event sponsored by Porter Square Books)!
(Full disclosure: Hers was almost the first blog I ever read. The first was a guy from my most favorite college a cappella group, who you know, I was sort of stalking. But whatever. E-stalking, it's totally okay.)

I thought you were more than e-stalking him. Didn't you have buttons and magnets?
Actually, the buttons and magnets were for ANOTHER Derby (my true favorite). And we didn't really have buttons. Just magnets.
TOTALLY fine.
I love Chez Henri. And so convenient!
I meant to eat that Cuban sandwich there before I moved. Alas, I didn't make it there.
I DID have their mojito, though. Mmmm.
The mojito is a good start, but you didn't have the Cuban sandwich?? Oh, man. It's spectacular.
Hmm....so hungry...
I was lucky enough to take a class with Kate's favorite derby, but I have to say that I still don't see what all the fuss was about :-p
